Composting Wildfire Threat

Sierra Contracting Inc. in partnership with the Village of Ruidoso is taking measures to help Ruidoso reduce wildfire threat.

     

The Village of Ruidoso initiated a forest waste reduction program in partnership with the residents of Ruidoso and Sierra Contracting to combat wildfires in the area. Forest waste is collected by the Village and transported to Sierra Contracting's processing facilities. Once at the facilities, the waste is processed and converted to compost and/or composted mulch to be used in a variety of projects. This program offers a great "Green" solution to forest waste problems and greatly helps reduce wildfire threat.
